The history of Chateau Lynch Bages begun in the 17th century when Jean Dejean, a royal notary, acquired plots of land that would later form the Domaine de Bages. In the 18th and 19th century, Irishman John Lynch gave the estate a new dimension, selecting best grape varieties, understanding the terroir and viticulture. In 1855, Chateau Lynch Bages was classified as 5th Grand Cru Classe in Pauillac. In 1985, the French astronaut Patrick Baudry took a half bottle of the 1975 vintage of Chateau Lynch Bages as his flight companion onboard the American Discovery shuttle, making Lynch-Bages the first wine to enter space. This rich history makes Lynch Bages one of the most traded, collectable and consumed wines from Bordeaux, and a wine that has proven its quality over hundreds of years.

Come join us at 305 Wines as we taste through 8 vintages of this distinguished label, going back as far as 1986, plus their 2nd wine, Echo de Lynch Bages.
