February 26, 2026
Explore the second wines of Bordeaux’s most prestigious estates. Led by Alessandra Esteves, DipWSET, MW Candidate, official Bordeaux Educator, this session examines how these labels reflect the terroir and winemaking standards of their parent châteaux.
We will taste a lineup of 8 wines from the Left and Right Banks, featuring the second wines of First Growths Château Margaux, Château Mouton Rothschild, and Château Latour. The class will focus on the vineyard selection process, technical differences between the first and second labels, and the aging profile of these wines. This is an opportunity to compare how the house styles of Saint-Julien, Pauillac, Margaux, and Saint-Émilion are expressed through these specific bottlings.
Lineup:
Amiral de Beychevelle 2021 (Saint-Julien)
L’Hospitalet de Gazin 2020 (Pomerol)
Echo de Lynch-Bages 2019 (Pauillac)
Petit-Figeac 2016 (Saint-Émilion)
Pagodes de Cos 2016 (Saint-Estèphe)
Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux 2018 (Margaux)
Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 2015 (Pauillac)
Les Forts de Latour 2018 (Pauillac)
This is a rare opportunity to taste the second wines of the world's most famous châteaux side-by-side. Space is limited.
