His impressive career in the chemical industry for over 16 years took him to various corners of the globe, including Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, and Central America, and bestowed upon him fluency in four languages.

In his role at the Florida Wine Academy, Mr. Macedo oversees the Sake Education Program, providing unparalleled instruction in the art of sake appreciation and production. His responsibilities also extend to cultivating new partnerships with corporations, associations, and chambers of commerce, overseeing all back-office activities, and ensuring quality control at all levels.

Beyond his managerial responsibilities, Mr. Macedo’s real passion lies in sake. As a Master Sake Sommelier (MSS) certified by the Sake Sommelier Association (SSA), he is recognized as an expert in the sake world. He holds additional certifications as a WSET Certified Sake Educator for levels 1 and 3, and he is an International Kikisake-Shi, a revered Japanese Sake Adviser, certified by the Sake Service Institute (SSI).

Mr. Macedo is also a Certified Sake Professional by the Sake Education Council, adding another jewel to his sparkling crown of sake credentials. His expertise extends beyond sake, with the WSET Level 1 in Spirits, Court of Master Sommelier Level 1, and he passed the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits with distinction.
