Champagne Specialist Course Returns to Miami This September

Champagne Specialist Course Returns to Miami This September

Aug 05, 2026

Alessandra Esteves

Florida Wine Academy is bringing the Champagne Specialist course back to Miami this September, and seats are already filling up after two successful sessions earlier this year.

What is the Champagne Specialist certification?

This is the only certification of its kind sanctioned by the Comité Champagne (CIVC), the official governing body of the Champagne region. Alessandra Esteves, DipWSET and Master of Wine student, is a certified Champagne educator through the CIVC and leads every session in Miami. Students who complete the course sit a closed book exam and, upon passing, receive an official Champagne Specialist certificate recognized around the world.

How often does Florida Wine Academy offer this course?

Florida Wine Academy runs the Champagne Specialist course three times a year, and September's class continues a calendar that will carry into 2027. The two sessions held earlier this year sold out and drew strong feedback from students who wanted a deeper, more rigorous understanding of the region than a general tasting class can offer.

Who is the Champagne Specialist course for?

The course is built for a wide range of people. Sommeliers and wine directors take it to sharpen their expertise. Retail shop owners take it to better guide their customers. And a growing number of seats go to Champagne collectors and enthusiasts who simply want to understand what makes the region unique, from soil and grape varieties to production methods and the history behind the bottle.

Why Miami for Champagne education?

Miami has a real appetite for Champagne, and Florida Wine Academy has built its calendar around that. September's Champagne Specialist course sits right alongside the Academy's other Champagne programming, including Miami Champagne Week this October. If you love Champagne and want the credential to back that passion, this is the course.
